Adelaide Rundle Mall Balls at Night

The “Mall’s Balls” at night. There is something surreal about streetscapes at night, especially when they are areas that during the day are generally filled with people going about their business.

I shot this on a photowalk (by myself) in Adelaide one night just to use up some film. I like the way the Kodak Pro Image 100 lets me work with the natural and available light in these shots.

The photograph itself is lit by empty shop-lights creating these new colours, lights and shadows everyone who visits the area when it is busy or during the day never sees. It is like a second life, or a time when the street comes to life for itself to paint a new picture suddenly happens. There is a certain  magic to the shot. Something that most people don’t get to see. Happy to have snapped these area in its other, parallel world.
