Leica Camera AG has expanded its legendary M-Lens lineup with four highly anticipated product variants, introducing three lenses in the iconic Leica Safari design and a new glossy black edition of the Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 from the Classic line. The announcement continues Leica’s long tradition of combining technical excellence with distinctive, collectible aesthetics—making these new lenses must-haves for enthusiasts, working photographers and collectors alike.
Safari Editions Return in Style
The new Leica Safari Editions feature the Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 ASPH., Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 ASPH., and Summicron-M 28 f/2 ASPH., each finished in a durable matte olive-green coating. This striking colourway has become one of the most beloved special-edition looks in Leica history, instantly recognisable and deeply connected to the brand’s heritage.
Designed to pair perfectly with the Leica M11-P Safari, each lens includes thoughtful visual touches: a silver-chrome brass focus tab, a red feet scale and white metre markings. The lenses also feature Leica’s extended close-focus distance and offer the same optical performance as their standard production counterparts.

A Glossy Black Summilux-M with Vintage Soul
The fourth release is a glossy black paint variant of the Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 from Leica’s Classic line. Long considered one of the most coveted finishes among Leica collectors, glossy black paint develops a natural patina over time as the brass beneath subtly emerges—making each lens a uniquely personal object.
This Summilux-M 50 f/1.4 is paired with a round, glossy black lens hood and delivers the signature “Leica look,” famed for its smooth, character-rich bokeh and timeless rendering. As with all Classic line lenses, users can expect vintage-inspired image aesthetics combined with modern optical precision.
