Panasonic Lumix S1R II Unveiled: Hybrid Power with Blazing Autofocus and 8K Video

Panasonic has officially introduced the Lumix S1R II, a powerful full-frame mirrorless camera designed for both professional photographers and hybrid content creators. Packed with significant upgrades, the new model builds upon the strengths of its predecessor while delivering enhanced imaging capabilities, lightning-fast autofocus, and cutting-edge video performance.

Photography Powerhouse

At the core of the Lumix S1R II is a newly developed 44.3-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor. While slightly smaller than the original S1R’s sensor, the new chip promises improved subject tracking and focus accuracy, powered by a 779-point Phase Hybrid Autofocus system. The camera is capable of capturing 12-bit RAW images at up to 40fps with the electronic shutter, ensuring photographers never miss a moment.

Cinema-Grade Video Performance

Videographers will also find plenty to love in the S1R II. The camera supports 8K video recording at 30fps and 4K at up to 120fps in 10-bit, delivering high-resolution, cinematic-quality footage. It also introduces 6.4K open-gate recording, offering flexibility for different aspect ratios and framing options.

Refined Design and Connectivity

Despite being 25% lighter than its predecessor, Panasonic assures that the S1R II retains its rugged build quality. It features a 5.76-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a three-inch fully articulated LCD touchscreen for intuitive shooting and navigation. The camera includes dual card slots (SD UHS-II and CFexpress Type B) and supports direct recording to an external SSD via its 10Gbps USB-C port, making it a versatile tool for professionals.

With its blend of speed, precision, and cutting-edge video features, the Lumix S1R II reinforces Panasonic’s commitment to hybrid creators looking for top-tier performance in both photography and videography.
