I’ll start with an ethics statement. I asked this lady if I could take her photo to record her plight. She agreed. It was only after I took the picture I gave her a donation which I hope has helped her out in some way. I don’t know anything about her plight. I know very little about refugees anywhere in the world. While I admit to possessing limited knowledge about the hardships faced by refugees across the globe, I do not merely seek to make a political statement nor can I readily be defined as an activist. Rather, I am deeply grateful for the blessings in my own life and strive to extend assistance wherever possible. In this captured image, I witnessed not just an individual in dire need, but a symbolic representation of countless others who deserve our unwavering attention and empathy. The sight of this resolute lady serves as a poignant reminder of the stark disparities that exist in our world, urging us to seize opportunities to lend a helping hand.
