Gawler Baptist Church, South Australia

I shot this back in 2018 on a photowalk in Galwer, South Australia. I am so pleased with the colours, saturation and dynamic range that Kodak Ektar gave me for this shot. Everything is well exposed, the details are there, and the shot has a timeless feel to it. Timeless, like Christianity, where God’s love endures forever.

Gawler Baptist Church, located in Gawler, South Australia, has a rich history dating back to 1866. The first Baptist services in Gawler were held in the old Odd Fellows hall in 1866, with a church being officially formed within the same year. The first church building was erected in 1870, serving both as a church and a school. This original structure underwent several additions, including classrooms in 1879 and a lecture hall in 1903. The old Church building was sold to a retail chain, they are now operating from a new building at Nixon Terrace.
